Jeremiah Thoronka began in a displacement camp amidst Sierra Leone's civil war, where his community's reliance on firewood and charcoal for lighting and cooking led to severe air pollution, respiratory problems, and environmental degradation. These hardships ignited his passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, leading him to develop clean energy systems during his teenage years, tailored to meet the unique needs of his community and other vulnerable groups. His focus extends to energy conservation and entrepreneurial programs that leverage local sociocultural insights, enabling communities to realize the social value of accessible renewable energy fully.

Recognized as the inaugural Global Student Prize Laureate, Jeremiah received the Africa Youth Award and was named Young Innovator of the Year. He was honored as a laureate of the Commonwealth Youth Awards for Excellence in Development Work - Africa and featured in the 100 Most Influential Africans list. His impactful work has gained global attention, including features in the World Economic Forum, BBC, The Evening Standard, The Times, and Aljazeera, and led to his debut TED Talk.

A distinguished scholar, Jeremiah graduated from the African Leadership University's Global Challenges program and holds an MSc in Sustainability, Energy, and Development from Durham University, where he was a Commonwealth Shared Scholar. He is also a Mandela Washington Fellow from the University of Nevada-Reno Business School and a Visiting Scholar/Fellow at Arizona State University's School of the Future for Innovation in Society. Providing clean and sustainable energy solution have being my passion.  Throughout my early childhood I had to endure the experience of complete blackout and use of fossil fuel. Science taught me that we can harness certain energies to provide electricity. That knowledge marked the beginning of what is today.
